Got up and cleaned up. Left at 10:30AM for Governor Sir Dallas Brooks’s mansion – Government House. Sir Dallas was sick, so lady Brooks greeted us. There was an official reception for all foreign contingents there.

Afterwards, were shown through state dining room and ballroom [State ballroom is 1′ longer than the one at Buckingham Palace]. Queen Victory was angry when it was built] Talked with Mr. Nichols who was very nice.

Went with John Nankervis (Sandy GSM) and had lunch, then watched yachting till 3:00……then we had tea with Mr. & Mrs. Smart. Mrs. Smart was Canadian, extremely nice. Mr. Smart’s company donated $200 each to contingent.

Went home and Gibby took me down swimming in the surf. What a ball! After supper, went to Luna Park. Big Sunnyside. Had a ball. Trains are really funny.
