Wonderful sleep, had breakfast, house was old, small wood stove but Mr. and Mrs. Jolly and son John were terrific.

Left at 10AM for farm of Mr. Dahleenberg. 3000 acres for wheat and sheep. Saw sheep up close and saw Australian wheat being harvested. Instead of cutting it off at the ground, they just cut off the heads.

Very interesting to see the type of agriculture in this State. Had lunch at Mr. Dahleenberg’s. Terrific guy.

Had blowout (flat tire) on the road and stopped in Warracknabeal for one hour to get a new tire. Got a haircut!!!

On the road again. Country very flat! Much grain. Lots of trees.

Charlton is a nice place. Were greeted by the citizens and our billets, had tea, then went on a tour of the local newspaper. Saw all details of printing. [Set my name from molten lead on an old typesetting machine.]

Had banquet with local bigs at hotel. Went to scout meeting and ate again and fraternized around. Boarding with Mr. & Mrs. Perry and Ray. Terrific.
