My husband inherited a pocket watch that originally belonged to his great-grandfather. It needs a new crystal. It probably needs a good many other things, as well. (I wonder why we always seem to inherit stuff that needs fixing). Honestly. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to fix it ourselves? But as with all things, you need the right tools and the right training. In this case, I think I’ll leave it to the professionals.
I admire watch repair people using all those tiny instruments. I wouldn’t have the patience for that kind of work. Those wonderful men and women who actually do this work must feel like surgeons. The owner complains that his watch isn’t working, they open up the cavity, search for the problem, repair it and close the cavity once again. The customer feels better, pays and leaves. Ah, but I am getting carried away.
Anyway, it’s a lovely watch, other than the crystal. It would be great to have it working and, perhaps, wear it as a pendant. So, if repairing watches is your calling then you would be wise to read more here. The article will explain what you need to know about ordering online.
