They said it would be the tightest race in history. It wasn’t. Sure, it was close but he won by a decent majority both from the electoral college and the popular vote.
Revenge of the 47%.
And poor Romney only had one speech prepared and that’s why it took him two hours to give the concession speech. Talk about delusional. Still, I didn’t mind him so much. He was dragged this way and that by the party members, especially the Tea Party. Gawd, who let them in?
My husband who is conservative all the way is panicking. Huh? He thinks it’s the end of the road for America. Huh? He thinks the entire world is going to the dogs. Huh? I don’t blame him. He’s an old white guy. He fits the demographics.
I didn’t sleep much last night. I am tired. It’s going to be a long day.
I know this is turning into the Obama site. Sorry about that but some things just have to be told and opinions expressed.
I hate Republicans. There, I said it. I hate all right wing Conservative types. They will always vote for the status quo. What idiots would ever vote for parties whose main aim is to do nothing? “Let the Market Decide” is their mantra. What a crock. “The Market” is made up of people and we can see what those people have done. Bunch of thieves. Besides, have you ever met one – one Republican that was hot? Never. And what’s with all the Bible thumping? What is that? And they’re the same ones that have a lot to say about Islam. Read more…
What can I say? The people have spoken. I had hoped it would turn out this way. I feared it might not have turned out this way. All the things I feared evaporated as I watched the results come in. It’s hard to believe that common sense won over prejudice and fear mongering. Perhaps America did, in fact, grow up.
Congratulations, President Obama. May the force be with you.
Am I the only one sick and tired of hearing what a “great American” John McCain is? Why? Because he was shot down and held prisoner of war? So what? How about all the other thousands of men held as prisoners of war? Does that mean they should all become President? Does that mean they are all “great Americans”?
Get real.
McCain can’t even inspire a hungry dog to come for a bone. Even Joe the plumber doesn’t heed his call. He is boring. He makes no sense. Imagine talking to crowds of struggling Americans and telling them there is no way he’d ever increase taxes on big business nor lower theirs. Perhaps he’s afraid he’d have to share his wealth. What an idiot.
So when Obama and others call McCain a great American, my high school Shakespeare “Julius Caesar” comes to mind. To quote Mark Antony, “They are honorable men. They are all honourable men” referring to the assassins.
Never speak ill of a man when he’s down. Those who have read books on “one-upsmanship” know that’s exactly when you should kick him. Obama is a gentleman and a scholar and would never do that. I’m not sure I could hold myself back. Go, Obama. Down with McCain.
There is no doubt, Barak is presidential material. His easy charm could translate into world peace. That is, unless he gets sidelined by the Republican political bible punchers. I don’t see how. I think most Americans have had their fill of Republican hypocritical self-rightiousness. It’s phony.
I have to tell you, if he wins – and I sure hope he does – I will take my hat off to all Americans. They would finally have reached the maturity to look past their narrow-mindedness and vote for talent. Maybe some day they will also stop categorizing people. Is it important what colour or religion a person is? How about if their mother tongue is Spanish? Is that any reason to call them Hispanics or black or white, for that matter. I don’t think it’s right to segment people. They are souls no matter what their ethnic background.
I’ve been criticized for being too left. Frankly, I don’t care. Call me whatever makes you feel good.
Well, I’ve had my say for one morning. I feel better now. I hope he likes Canadians.
