Can We Talk?

Early Mornings

I love the early morning hours. I see by my computer that it is 4:21AM at this time and I’ve been up for over an hour. Last night, with hubby watching football I decided I’d rather watch a movie in bed. That was around 6. Next thing I knew, it was 3 AM and I’m wide awake.

I love the early morning hours. It’s dark, peaceful, quiet and I feel like I’m the only person in the world. The dishwasher has been emptied and the coffee made. I’m actually having my 2nd cup right now.

Christmas is only a few days away. You’d never know it by the weather. It’s been so mild although I think I did see some snowflakes back a couple or three weeks ago. So far, that’s it. Global warming. It’s no myth.

I remember winters when I was young – and it wasn’t that long ago. Even up to a decade ago we had good snowfalls and real cold weather. That’s what I call winter. But I’m talking southern Ontario. Northern Ontario still has cold and snow. Hell, even Vancouver got blasted this year and that is really unusual for them. They rarely have snow. Mostly it just rains all winter long. So, this warming trend seems to be localized, which is odd. Well, maybe not so odd, after all the warm air currents are coming from south of us so maybe the currents are changing. Oh well, whatever. Can’t do anything about the weather. Last night (I call it night cause it’s dark already) around 5PM, I went for my evening walk and to look at all the lights in the neighbourhood, I had to take off my jacket and walk with only a tshirt. And it’s a week before Christmas and this is Canada, for God’s sake. Early morning musings.
Thought I’d upload some photos. Here goes.
