I still love Obama. He did what no other president had been able to do – create a national health scheme. Come on. A country like the USA with no universal health care system? An outrage. Shame. Little Cuba has universal health. Every other civilized country in the world has universal health. There is literally no illiteracy in Cuba, either. University is free. Well, sort of. A friend of mine explained it. He went to university in the morning and worked in the sugar cane fields in the afternoon. So, sweat equity. Fair enough.
Why did Socialism get a bad rap? Without some socialism you have a country without a heart. Great if you’re the guy at the top of the heap calling the shots. Anywhere else, you’re just a serf bowing to your master.
As much as I loathe killing, there is a time when it is appropriate. It took Obama to hunt down bin Laden. That should have happened at the very start instead of invading Afghanistan and dropping bombs. You drop bombs on a nation because you’re after one man? Cowards. Feeling safe up there in your bombers shooting people at random. Feeling good, eh? Powerful. Might is right. Cowards.
Obama is a good man. He works hard. When there is a problem anywhere in the country, he is there to see the damage himself. He’s there right away – not months later. He keeps his nose clean. He is admired all over the globe. Lucky Americans to have a man like Obama at the helm. I envy you. And his wife is equally awesome. What a couple.

How stupid is this? “No, I do not wish to be covered. I wish to die rather than have medical attention”.
Since it’s still cold outside and my seeds haven’t arrived yet, I thought I’d put in my two cents regarding our dear neighbour to the south. I have to believe that it’s only a few people that are against socialized medicine. Honestly. If you hear me call them morons, don’t be offended. Those I’m referring to know who they are.
Why all this kerfuffle? I can only believe that a lot of folks in the Republican party will lose a lot of money from the pharmceutical and insurance lobbyists. So, what’s all that screaming about – calling them baby killers and such? And you wonder why I call you morons. You’ve been so brainwashed for so many decades, you can’t think logically anymore – assuming you ever could, that is. OK, that was bad.
I shouldn’t talk, really. We went through the same thing in Canada back in the 50’s and early 60’s. If it hadn’t been for a little man called Tommy Douglas, perhaps we’d be in the same situation as the US. Go HERE to read about him. He had been a preacher before entering politics. (BTW, he is the grandfather of Kiefer Sutherland.) Poor Tommy and his CCF party went through the same hate mongering just like Obama and the Democrats are going through today. A few years ago – 20 years or so after his death, he was voted “The Greatest Canadian” by a national consensus. There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that he certainly was and still is.
I predict, years after Obama’s passing, he will be lauded as “The Greatest American”.

Why is that? What are they so afraid of? Socialized medicine. That’s a bad thing?
There has been this ongoing brainwashing of the American mind, and Canadian also but not to that extent. Fear of Socialism. Not sure why but it probably has something to do with Russia and their revolution.
Stepping back in time, all countries ruled by royalty treated their people like so much dirt under their feet. All that class system like one was better than another. Blue blood. Where did that come from? Prick Prince William with a needle and show me where you see blue. And don’t talk to me about it’s a metaphore. It’s bullshit, that’s what it is.
Industrial revolution and it’s OK to have children work in factories beside the adults. They’re nothing special. They’re commoners, not worthy of any respect. They’re like cattle or oxen. Livestock and born to toil for their masters.
But I digress.
I hope ordinary Americans have the good sense to see past the fear-mongering Republicans and see where it would benefit them, their children and generations to come. Even if they have to pay a little more income tax. So what? It’s a damn sight cheaper than facing over-the-top medical bills that could ruin them financially. Personally, I prefer an across-the-board government run program. It simplifies things. Hey, but anything is better than what they’ve got now.
So, do my views make me a Socialist? Maybe they do. Yeah, I guess they do and I’m proud of it.
Go, Barak. I’m proud of you. Well, I’d be more proud if you brought your troops home.

We’d heard so many horror stories about the lack of doctors in the country. I don’t know where the stories originated. There was even a Canadian woman on an American commercial that the Republicans ran over and over. She claimed she had to go to the US to get medical treatment for something. I can’t remember what. Maybe her heart? She claimed her doctor said there was a two year waiting list for the treatment she needed. I wonder how much she was paid for that commercial? She’s a liar of the first order.
